No — Windsor Hills Resort does not operate a shuttle or bus to the Disney theme parks. And for many families, that is not the downside it first sounds like.
Windsor Hills is located very close to Walt Disney World, so most guests use a rental car, their own vehicle, Uber or Lyft. The advantage is simple: you leave when your family wants to leave, not when a shuttle timetable says you may leave.
Option 1: rental car or your own vehicle
A car is the most flexible choice for many Windsor Hills families. You can rope drop, come home for naps, grab groceries, split adults and children into different plans, and leave a park the moment somebody hits the wall.
It is especially practical for longer stays and multigenerational trips because Orlando attractions, supermarkets and restaurants are spread across a large area.
Option 2: Uber or Lyft
Uber and Lyft are widely used around Windsor Hills and the Orlando theme parks. They can work very well for couples, smaller families or groups that do not want to pay for a rental car every day.
Windsor Hills’ FAQ recommends sending rideshare drivers the main gate entrance address as well as your rental address so they know how to enter the community.
What about larger families?
This is where the math gets interesting. A family of six or eight may need a larger rideshare vehicle, multiple cars or a rental minivan/SUV. Compare the total cost across your entire stay rather than looking at one ride.
Families using car seats should also plan carefully. Do not assume every rideshare option will have the specific child restraint you need.
Why Windsor Hills does not necessarily need a park shuttle
Off-site resort shuttles often operate on fixed schedules with specific pickup locations. That can work for some travelers, but it may be frustrating if your toddler needs a 1 p.m. nap or you decide to leave EPCOT early because everybody is soaked from a thunderstorm.
With your own transportation, Windsor Hills becomes a genuine home base. You can leave for Disney early, return to the rental, then head back out later if the group still has energy.
Which transportation option is best?
- Young kids + strollers + car seats: rental car is often easiest.
- Couple or small family: rideshare can be very convenient.
- Long stay: compare weekly rental-car pricing against repeated rideshare trips.
- Large multigenerational group: consider whether one or two vehicles gives the group more independence.
- International visitors: factor in driving comfort, insurance and Florida road rules.
Do not forget Disney parking

The Windsor Hills advantage is flexibility
A shuttle sounds convenient because transportation is handled for you. But a Disney family vacation rarely runs exactly on schedule. Someone gets tired. Somebody loses a shoe. A rainstorm appears. The park closes later than you expected because you found a short line for one more ride.
